Is that Glenn with a crimson bikini?

Responded Apr 08, 2005 11:29AM

Just wanted to let you know it is not me. I am a little bit larger than the diver in the picture, Maybe 75lbs.

I always thought Glenn was more of a thong kind of guy ;-)

Actually we got Quasi Modo to do a photo shoot for us. This was in his younger days.

Just kidding, that is the man, the myth, the legend, Glenn Mills.

We decided against the thong shots.

Man... now I see what happens when I go out of town. I'm going to have to check both your hard-drives for OTHER "archived" photos. I have to say, it was pretty funny seeing this, and that WAS a body suit 25 years ago! Later, G

It's a stupid way of doing press ups if you ask me.

And Glenn, why are you pigeon-backed?!

Responded Apr 08, 2005 12:14PM

I'd like to say that my back is the way it is because of SO many years of REACHING forward. I think it could be a combination of things, but I think Popeye said it best when he said, "I is what I is." Or something like that.

Seriously though, that is some pretty good form on the start.

That was before they had starting blocks.

One word......

Beautiful !!!!

I'm most impressed with the photographer. Catching you in air, clearly with a 35mm is pretty amazing. I've seen guys with digitals taking 10 shots in a second without as nice a result.

Nice dive Glenn.

Why can't I help thinking this is some kind of a set up? :)

1st) Aren't YOU the one that told me to do 5 starts a day at the end of each practice? You do the math, you're the one that got me started doing that!
2nd) The hands will point forward a bit more as the head and torso aim more down to the water, to SPEAR everything through one hole.
3) Yes, perfectly horizontal (you're going to have to go back to the first question, call the photographer, and thank HER for the great timing of this shot!). When you're the shortest one on the blocks, you better make sure you spend as much time as possible heading toward the other end! Wasn't it something like... explosive flight as far and as fast as possible with a clean entry?

Yeah... pretty simple stuff. Good thing I had great teachers when I was young! Thanks.

PS. I ALMOST brought the picture of you from World University Games out of Dad's office back with me. What's the "lean" all about? :) And that FLAG suit?!?! Man... we were BRAVE!
