What I have noticed is that the legs of backstrokers (as Piersol's are here) tend to sink much more than in any other stroke...is that OK or is it just a wrong perception?

i think that you're just looking at it the wrong way, yes they look like their sinking, and that what i thought when i looked at it. but if you see, its not a problem of body alighment since his hip is even breaking the water. if you look closely and where his body shadow is, figurtivly speaking, and you look where his toes are, they are just barely out of it, and not hitting much undisrutbed water. and i'm sure that some backstrokers have big kicks simply because thats who they are. |
