Pic of the Week - July 21, 2006

Posted by Glenn Mills on Jul 21, 2006 06:01AM (3,538 views)
Our Pic of the Week features the beginning. Remembering where it all starts, and that's getting comfortable in the water.

This is from some lessons I've been giving, and I couldn't be prouder of my student. Enjoy.

That is a cool picture. It is so easy to get caught up in meets & practices that you forget about the really great things going on every day.
I got to watch my son teaching swim lessons this week, with the 5-6 year olds. Watching him earn their trust and help them get over fears of the big monster pool was pure therapy for me.

Wonderful picture. Now if I can just get my daughter to do that...

Yea some kids I teach lessons to insist on letting their nose fill up with water everytime and blasting it out when they come up. All instead of pushing the water out when underwater!!

Great picture with the bubble formed right in the nostril! Hah

Love the picture! Wish I could get my 5yr old son to do it. I think he's boycotting the whole swimming thing since his sisters swim and has been drug to meets and practices since he was an infant- ha! ha!

This little one is a pure natural! No fear, just pure relaxation and one with the water. What a pleasure!

For years I have worked with a preschool class. We spend a great deal of time "Blowing Bubbles". I tell them there are 3 kinds of bubbles.
Mouth bubbles, nose bubbles and the hardest ones "eyeball bubbles" too date I have had only one child that told me you can't blow eyeball bubbles.

Never tell a child to hold their breath or "Put your face in the water" its always "blow bubbles and look down"

Very cool Bob, and I like the "look down". That slight tilt of the head keeps the water from going up the nose as well. Thanks for the input.
