Aaron Peirsol's backstroke like you've never seen it before!

In GO SWIM BACKSTROKE, Gold medalist and world record holder Aaron Peirsol shares the key focus points that he uses to develop his awesome backstroke technique. Aaron's six focus points work for every level of swimmer - novice to elite - and you don't have to learn drills or change your normal workout routine in order to incorporate them into your stroke. The extraordinary swimming footage of Aaron, combined with clear, step-by-step instruction, will help take your backstroke to the next level.

* Discover Aaron's 6 key focus points for fast backstroke, and hear him describe those points in his own words.
* Learn WHY each key point is important, and HOW each one will help you go faster.
* Each focus point is illustrated from multiple angles - side, head-on, below, and behind - and from above and below the surface.
* Slow-motion and freeze-frame footage allows you to zoom in on key moves and really SEE how to do them.
* Bonus section includes: starts... turns... drills... underwater dolphin... an exclusive interview with Aaron... plus spectacular footage of Aaron surfing at The Wedge, off Newport Beach, CA.

AARON PEIRSOL has been at the elite level of his sport since the age of 10 when he set his first national age-group record. Since then, he has won 4 NCAA championships, 11 national championships, 13 world championships, and 4 Olympic medals (3 gold in 2004; 1 silver in 2000). He has set numerous world records in the 100 and 200 backstroke, and is the current world record holder in the 100 LCM backstroke. Through clinics and appearances, Aaron has won fans all over the world, and is adept at teaching swimmers of all ages and abilities. In partnership with Oceana (http://www.racefortheoceans.org), Aaron also swims (and surfs) to raise awareness about the threats facing our oceans.

GO SWIM BACKSTROKE WITH AARON PEIRSOL was written, filmed, and produced by the team of GLENN MILLS, a member of the 1980 Olympic Swim Team, and BARBARA HUMMEL, veteran of two Olympic Trials and currently a coach and world top-ten Masters swimmer.

Sorry, I think my life will be complete when I recieve this video. wait.. i before e except after c... receive!!!!
I have seen many clips already and watched many of aaron's races. His technique definatly harnesses lots and lots of fundamentals that make you fast. He does them all the time and is very consistant in his swims.

I'm interested to finally see some of the things that make him unique though. Just like the Rouse video has some unique attributes with his stroke. Seeing them both will definatly give a better overall understanding which means faster times for me and faster times for my swimmers! Plus who doesn't like getting out and watching aaron peirsol swim in between drills/sets at practice!(I already show aaron clips ;) at my practice, but this will be 100% better quality.)

If I order today, would it be possible for me to receive it by next Wednesday (23th)?

Thanks!

Hi Adrian and thanks for the feedback. Glad you're enjoying the DVD. LOL, being a breaststroker, I'm not exactly the right person to ask about a set for elite Masters backstroke. But one set that I like to do is with a Tempo Trainer.

Do 4 X 25 backstroke as a"calibration" set. Adjust the Tempo Trainer so that the cadence seems nice and easy. Then do...

5 X 100 backstroke on a :25 or :30 rest interval
1st 100: Tempo Trainer is at your comfortable setting
2nd 100: Set the TT to beep :05 faster
3rd 100: Increase by another :05
4th 100: Increase by another :05
5th 100: Increase by another :05

The idea is that you are gradually increasing your stroke rate/cadence as the set progresses. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the set Mrs.Barbara . Iam lost in the swimmin world I though there is just one way to swim backstroke but Mr.Aaron does it in some other cool way . I went back to my other DVD Michael Phelps Beijing 2008, and I was comparin how Phelps swims backstroke and how Ryan Lochte swim backstroke .Majority of backstrokes swimms upside down front crawl, but Mr.Aaron does something else with his kick, I am practisin how Aaron kicks but I need to practice more, however I tryed something diffrent today while swimming freestyle I tryed to do the Mr.Aaron backstroke kick but it did't work that good :)

Thanks again for the dvd , your webbsite and yours dvd's are makin me better swimmer.

I forgot something when I can start to learn breastroke and butterfly, do I need to know very good freestyle and backstroke then to move to next level breastroke and butterfly. I can do little breastroke but I think I will need Mr.Brendan Hansens DVD.

Responded Jan 27, 2009 09:45PM

Hi Adrian. Why wait? If you can swim free and back, you should definitely start learning breast and fly. There's a lot of stuff on the site that can help you, but the DVDs are excellent, too. I'd recommend the Misty Hyman for fly and either Dave Denniston Breast or Brendan for breast. Good luck!
