This makes me think... because so many styles of breaststroke... STart off with great kick timing, the heels a bit high relative to the hip position.. On that note I'd have him work on a more POWERFUL insweep and keeping his abdomen scooped in a bit more because that looks like a WHOLE BUNCH of lower back bend. So could probably get more forward propulsion that way. Also more powerful insweep could get the hips up higher where they need to be. This could all be due to him arching his back too much throwing his streamlined body a bit off balance causing the hips to sink... But he looks like he has his kick timed just right. And I'm sure I've seen that speedo in drills past... It is hard to miss hahaha. As well as that ankle band. Although I do notice he isn't going for the Tara Kirk recovery... hehe. |

I think he would be wise to get new swim wear??? |

We try not to wear "fastskin" suits during practice, so what you're seeing is a loose suit, which we prefer in practice. |

Elixir... not quite sure how you can surmise anything about the insweep from this photo? I'm also not sure how much higher he could have his hips at this point. If they WERE higher, his feet would then either be too low, or too high and out of the water. While I agree on the back, I'm not sure I'm with you on the other points. G |

Breaststroke is the one stroke that I really enjoy coaching think that the INDIVIDUAL VARIATIONS always keeps thing interesting. When I study the world class athletes I try to observe the characteristics of forward velocity and all positive attributes. Breaststroke is the one stroke that really forces us coaches to think and be CREATIVE.I believe that the most successful breaststroke coaches are the ones who adapt the positive stroke characteristics to the individual. I tell my kids everyday that Breaststrokers are smart intelligent machines and fakestrokers are even smarter. Regarding the picture...I really like it.

definetly starting to get into the "plowing" (up and down) position a little bit. Like ElixirNova said, and Glenn conceded, his back is a little too arched. That;s kinda all i can tell in the picture |
We are a group of swimmers who swim really fast, and like to help others learn how to reach their competitive potential in the area of professional swimming.
