What would you do to make this standard swimming set more interesting? Add any equipment/sendoffs/strokes you want.

Hey, this is a cool question, I like it. leme guess:

10x100 (free style) : strength, technical set, LA1
1,3,5,7,9 (odd): kick w/o fins and kick-board
2,4,6,8,10 (even): pull w/o buoy

10 x 100 IM emphasis on transition
1-fast fly/back, drill breast/free
2-fast back/breast, drill fly/free
3-fast breast/free, drill fly/back
4-moderate swim with quick turns
5-from the blocks

Twice through, interval relative to ability

drills- fly/ triple kick
back/double arm
breast/free kick, fast hands
free/overkick

or any drills that you feel will benefit your swimmers.

10 X 100 kick/swim set
Choice of stroke or IM but keep it the same throughout.
Descend time on the swims.
1 & 2 - kick
3 - swim
4 & 5 - kick
6 - swim
7 & 8 - kick
9 - swim
Extra 30 seconds rest
10 - swim all out fast (block start if you want)

10 x 100 is one of my favorite sets. I have many variations, but one of my (recent) favorites is freestyle or backstroke: Repeat 100's as slow (70%), medium (80%), fast (90%). I tried to do this yesterday (Saturday) in a 25m pool in Tokyo, but the lap etiquette was not accommodating. Now in Shanghai, I'll just swim in an "irregular" pool :-( I look forward to swimming back in the USA in a few days...

Use cords for the entire thing. :)

1 fly drill swim kick swim
2 free drill ,swim (by 25)
3 back drill swim kick swim
4 free drill ,swim (by 25)
5 breast drill swim kick swim
6 free drill ,swim (by 25)
7 choice
8-10 decend to all out
