False...for guys at least. There's a noticeable difference between a baggy set of boardshorts and fitted lycra. But after that the returns diminish very, very fast. i.e. Don't expect a similar increase in performance going from a set of $30 jammers up to a $200 pair. |

I have had leg suit that were so tight my knee bend decreased and kicking changed, and it wasn't for the good! Made me a bit upset since I found out in my race... |

While you can't swim fast in any suit without training, I can tell you right now... I'll not swim an important race in anything but a full-body suit again. It just feels that good. |
