Semi-opened works better if you space it right. The trick is not to keep the fingers opened too wide. Thus, with novices, I still stress fingers closed. When they get to an elite level, then I will teach them semi-opened. He looks like he is just about to splash down in that pic. He's got some serious splash-age with his right arm. |

I see great shoulder extension and rotation. It seems to be watching his hand. Appears that there are very few bubbles from his hand entry and I agree that his digits could be a little closer. Do any of you feel that his left arm should be a little bit more ahead of where it is? Could this be a pose shot? |
