Jerry Heidenreich's 21 Top Laws of Swimming

Posted by Glenn Mills on Jun 11, 2009 11:40AM (3,486 views)

This has been posted many places around the web, but a good friend reminded me about it the other day.

Jerry Heidenreich was a four time Olympic medalist, with two of them gold, so his words certainly carry some weight.  You can read more about Jerry here.

It's a great list from a great swimmer.  Read and learn.

What I love above most of the items on the list is that they were appropriate in the 60's, they're appropriate now and will continue to be as long FINA doesn't get their knickers in a knot over the suit issue.

Thank you for these rules of the perfect swimmer, to be reminded each day of practice.
Lot of humour.
Just one question (of english) : what does he mean by "make your middle name streamline" ?

Responded Jun 12, 2009 02:05PM

"Make it your middle name" is an expression that means you've embraced something to such an extent that it defines you.
