Swim Set of the Week - June 12, 2009

Posted by Barbara Hummel on Jun 12, 2009 12:15PM (2,415 views)

This set is in honor of Scott May, a Masters swimmer on the team that I coach.  He's got a Big Birthday coming up and is doing this challenge set tomorrow.

40 X 100 IM on 1:40 sendoff (short-course meters)
Take 1 minute extra rest after each 10 X 100.  No equipment.

The rest of us are doing 40 X 75 on 1:40 :)

Go, Scott!

Humm...Barbara do you really want him to celebrate his birthday?

Well Barbara...did he survived?

We begin to worry!

Lol. Scott survived beautifully (getting about 12 seconds rest on each 100) and so did his buddy Surachai (getting about 7 seconds rest). Another group of swimmers did the 100s with a mix of IM, free, and back. The rest of us did 40 X 75 and it was plenty tough:) We all took an extra 60 seconds rest before the last round. We cranked up the PA system and had a good music mix, which helped a lot.

Well done Scott...and Happy Birthday!
