I read that they find hard to swim both a day (series + semi-finals) and that they get aches after a sprint, though they train hard all year long ! So they really give the MAX : how can I do that ? I never get aches with swimming (I often get some with running). It means I don't give the maximum, though I think so when I struggle for speed in water... |

Races at that level take a LOT out of the athletes. It's not uncommon for the top swimmers to lose significant weight over the course of a busy week. This is one of the reasons what Michael Phelps did last year in China is so amazing. The explosive movements it takes to really swim at the top speeds does indeed, put quite a strain on the entire body... and you'll feel it. |
We are a group of swimmers who swim really fast, and like to help others learn how to reach their competitive potential in the area of professional swimming.
