Freestyle - Learn to Swim Freestyle - Step 1

Posted by Glenn Mills on Feb 01, 2011 11:50AM (30,358 views)

Here's a sneak preview of a basic freestyle video we're working on.

We're sure you've seen this extremely simple technique before, but as we move this forward, you'll be presented with many options in how to build your freestyle.  There are more exciting aspects about this video / course as well, and we'll be releasing details over the next few weeks.

Take a quick look, and no matter what level of swimmer you are, always remember to revisit the basics every once in a while.  There's always something else to learn.

Doesn't get anymore fundamental than that.

I am new to swimming, and I don't understand. What do you mean by the phrase "press in at your chest" ? How is that done?

Responded Mar 11, 2011 12:15AM

Lean into the water without tucking your chin. Push your chest down a bit and your hips will naturally start to rise.

Dear Glenn, we are eagerly waiting for the next part of the video.

Its truly basic, I quickly want to share one learning, normally in videos it seems that the swimmer is using power to move forward, but the more relaxed one swims , the more is the speed and the lesser is the fatique
