iPhone Underwater Footage!

Posted by Glenn Mills on Nov 15, 2011 10:13AM (6,294 views)

If you've wondered if the iPhone really has the ability to record quality video underwater... here's a small vid.

The iPhone was in a Lifeproof iPhone case.

Hey Glenn, I can't watch the video, Facebook says it is unavailable.

Interesting... it plays for me. I'll check the settings. Trouble is, I dumped all the files off my phone before I got back... so I can't reload it. Silly me.

See if it plays now. I changed the privacy setting to public. Don't think there's anything else I can do with it.

That did it, nice videos, I might have to give myself one of those cases for Christmas.

Thanks for putting up a demo video for a use I've been considering. I'm paranoid about getting close to water with my iPhone but need to get some pics for our website and newsletter. Looks great!

Remember... you have to start and stop the video OUT of the water as the pressure doesn't allow you to hit buttons underwater. That makes taking pictures tough. However, you could record in HD, and then do a frame grab for a snap shot. Not perfect, and not as high res, but for websites, a few Photoshop tricks and you'll be good to go.
