Butterfly - Sprinting Fly with Fins

A very short clip of video showing what your swimmers should look like  when sprinting butterfly with fins. We've posted Fast Fin Fly before, but this is reinforcement... plus just some really cool body positions in this.

Hm.. He almost doesn't move his hips, only thighs and calfs are working. Is that correct for sprint with fins?

Not sure we're watching the same video. I think they're great hip movement for the speed he's going (sub :24 for 50 long course), the chest presses and connects the arms and lats... I see a LOT more things working than his thighs and calves. If the amplitude of the hips seems less than what you'd like to see, you have to remember the rate or cadence of his stroke at this speed. The higher the rate, the less amplitude or rotation you'll see in the swimmers. This theory will be based on the same swimmer increasing rate, not "all" swimmers.

Absolutely, he's just not moving anything independently. Everything is connected together and flowing

Would be good to see it without fins,..but love the diamond he makes....

This video looks very informative. It displays really well the timing, particulary for the second kick. That is the kick I'm still trying so hard to improve on.

I have never used fins before, and I'm still trying to get my fly down - I believe my hips are sinking, moreover my timing is off. I have plenty of speed, but at a cost of drag to the point that my momentum severely drops off at about the 35 m point.

Glenn, would you support the idea that fins can be a key tool for me to put things together p?
