Hopefully more info coming next week on this.

Between the title, and this shot, tell us if you know what's going on here.

I didn't guess, just noticed "what a streamline"

Is he a track star that you've asked to come in to help swimmers work on track starts?

Responded May 31, 2012 03:21PM

An enormous amount of smoke behind him!! Must be a 100/200/400 track sprinter, who is working daily on starts.

How far can you go from a dive underwater judging by the apparent depth he's gone too

Responded May 31, 2012 06:09PM

Running into the dive takeoff .... zoom!

Hmmm, let's see,

run•ner (noun)
[rúnnƏr]
1. Racer
somebody or something that runs, especially an athlete or a horse in a race

18. deep-water ocean fish
a swift streamlined deep-water sea fish of the jack family, especially either of two edible bluish species. Latin name: Caranx crysos, Elagatis bipinnulata

Of the two matching descriptions above my guess is the following:
1) The man in the picture has been trained at an elite level of swimming (position)
2) Has the upper body build of a short/mid distance runner who also trains with weights or equivalent, (build, body fat)
3) but primarily dedicated to swimming (a guess)
4) Entered the water with much greater velocity and momentum than capable from a block start (depth of bubbles).

Great shot! This would make a great print framed! I like Steve's description and I agree on point 4.

ROCKET FROM THE SKY TO THE CORE OF EARTH

Dive deep, hold streamline until you can manage your way to the surface again from a gradual ascent? A "runner" because of the great distance traveled underwater?
