Posted by Barbara Hummel on Aug 09, 2012 01:23PM (2,602 views)

IM and short-rest 25s today, plus Aquatic Ping Pong.

MAIN SET:  1850
4 X 200 on a sendoff/turnaround that gives 30-40 seconds rest; descend 1-4
Swim these as Butterly/Free/Backstroke/Free/Breaststroke/Free/Free/Free by 25.

50 easy recovery

10 X 25 on whatever sendoff gives you 3-6 seconds rest.  Get out of your comfort zone on these, e.g., if you usually swim 25s on a 30-second sendoff, try a 25-second sendoff.   These 25s are choice or stroke or kick.

50 easy recovery

10 X 25 on whatever sendoff gives you 3- seconds rest.

50 easy recovery

4 X 100 IM on whateve sendoff gives you 20-25 seconds rest; descend 1-4

50 easy recovery

OLYMPIC MOMENT:  AQUATIC PING PONG
Put on one paddle.  Place a ping pong ball or perforated plastic golf ball in the center of the paddle (avoid all the ways you can think of to cheat).  While holding the paddle out of the water, and keeping the ball on the paddle, time yourself for a 50.  If the ball falls off the paddle, retrieve the ball, return to your most recent wall, and start over.   You don't want to start over, so...focus!
