Just got me wondering recently about what is the so called diferent technique piersol uses for backstroke?

Supposedly I've heard it called body dolphin can anybody further the knowlege of this?

Yes, he uses his body in a dolphin motion while he swims. It is incredibly difficult to teach, and doesn't work for everyone. Aaron has mastered it, and it's amazing. But to duplicate it, is extremely difficult. Salo didn't teach it to him, nor did Eddie Reese. He developed it on his own.

Hm so as in dophin motion you mean within the horizontal plane with the surface undulating left to right for extra reach and push it looks like.

Because I keep wondering if it means an up and down undulating dolphin motion like fly almost only with backstroke. But I cannot see that at all. Which one are you talking about DD?

Elixir,
I think that Dave is talking about the up and down undulating. I think that he presses back with his shoulders as his hand enters. Then when he catches and pulls he gets his hips up to give him more power on the pull. Like Dave said it is unique to him, and incredibly hard to teach and pick up.

Oh!
Well that is very unique! Guess I'll wait to experiment with that till next summer :P.
