Hello,
I have a problem in butterfly when my arms enter the water beside me not in front of me!! Does anyone has a good drill to stop that?

I have a progression that I use, starting with single arm strokes and moving to other drills. My old coach used to say that if you can't swim fly correctly with one arm, you have no business trying with both. I pretty much apply this philosophy. Also, I make a focus on what I call "HOME BASE", or arms directly out in front of one's shoulders as the start/reach point of butterfly.

We will start with "Scooter Fly", which is single arm fly while holding a board, with the emphasis on extending the hand PAST the board. From there, we will do single arm fly with the non-stroking hand at the side, still focusing on reaching out in front, while breathing to the side. From there, we will go to a drill that I call "1up/4down", where the swimmer takes one full butterfly stroke, ending with the hands out in front of the shoulders, followed by 4 kicks with the hands still out in front. From there, we go to "2up/4down", adding another stroke before the 4 kicks. Finally, I will use a drill that I call "single/double", where the pattern is 1R/1B/1L/1B, with a focus on "HOME BASE".

Hope this helps.

Great video Colm! I have an 11-year old son who is a great freestyler and breaststoker, but who is still struggling with some aspects of butterfly. His form and rythm are fine while he is not breathing, but things start to fall apart once he needs to breath with every stroke. It is frustrating for both of us, but watching videos like this really helps. Thanks.
