I am a recovering, NCAA All-American swimmer, middle-aged male who has just joined my local masters swim team. Actually have been back in the water after 15 years since 8/08. I have been working out consistantly 5-6 days a week. I am up to 3500-4500 a workout and have been focusing on good hard kicking sets, 2-3 days a week. The past 2 weeks I cramp in my legs about half way through each set to the point where I have to stop, stretch it out and then I can usually limp through the set with the cramp just on the verge of shutting me down if I push too hard. I most cramp in my feet and a little in my calves. I stretch good before I get in the water, drink fluids before workout. Any ideas on what I can do...besides eating 5 bananas before workout? |
