Every Monday mornings we dedicate to kicking. This was one our main set we did this morning to work on not only going the distance underwater, but making it fast.

8x:
1 x 50 @ 1:00; 12 1/2 yards sprint underwater, the rest easy
1 x 50 @ 1:15; 25 yards sprint underwater, the rest easy
1 x 50 @ 1:30; 37 1/2 yards sprint underwater, the rest easy
1 x 50 @ 1:45; all 50 yards sprint underwater

All the underwaters were for time on a stop watch

how much rest between sets?

The last 50 of every set is on 1:45, my kids were going on average 30 - 35... so they were getting about a min and change for rest

Did any of them resort to fins at any point?

Fins weren't an option...

Do kids breathe at the wall or not ? What kind of turn is performed underwater : flip turn or touch and push off ?
Do they dolphin kick only or is there a set for flutter kick ?

It was all underwater dolphin kick. They performed an open turn at the wall and were allowed to breathe, but since it was for time they performed the turns very quickly. The turns weren't performed underwater though, they were performed as normal turns
