By Glenn Mills to Backstroke | Aug 14, 2014 08:34AM

Swimming Set of the Week - August 27, 2010

This week's set is in response to a forum question: What can I do in the pool when I have a sore shoulder?

Freestyle - High-Elbow Catch

By Glenn Mills to Freestyle | Mar 16, 2010 08:44AM

Catch-catch-catch... seems as if all we talk about is a high-elbow catch. For good reason. Nothing will move you through the water more effectively than an early, high-elbow catch in freestyle.

Freestyle - Water Polo Wide Catch

By Glenn Mills to Freestyle | Oct 07, 2008 11:10AM

If you have a tendency to let your hands cross over in front of your face in freestyle, this drill could be just the fix. We saw this drill demonstrated in the Karlyn Pipes-Neilsen DVD, but it came up again recently when working with a young swimmer whose background was water polo.

Freestyle - Vary Your Recovery

By Glenn Mills to Freestyle | Sep 30, 2008 11:30AM

When you're warming up for practice, it's common to feel tight, stiff, or just plain sore from your previous practice, or just because it's early. Sometimes just getting in and swimming hurts even more if you continue to repeat the exact same motion that got you sore to begin with.

Swimming Set of the Week - September 23, 2008
