This week's set integrates drilling and swimming...freestyle and backstroke.
First part of today's practice was all about technique and building awareness of rotation, kick, and hand entry. Then we carried the focus points into a set of 200s.
Getting back to basics today with Barbara's masters group. Working streamlines, pushoffs, and distance off the walls.
Many swimmers, especially masters swimmers, find it so challenging to do dolphin kick on their back that they just give up. By combining dolphin kick and breaststroke kick, you can learn this important skill and not feel like you're drowning or going backwards.
Want to see if you've REALLY mastered streamline? Try holding streamline as you spin in 360 rotation.
If you're not swimming FAST at practice, you should be THINKING at practice. This week's set is a thinking set, requiring focus and core control.
Single focus today...getting the knees to the chin on all turns (flip and open).
Inspired by Glenn's recent stroke-counting set, we decided to do some stroke counting with the masters in Vermont today.
Working on breaststroke kick and flip turns with the "technique group" today.
A little technique work to start the week right, with inspiration from Go Swim Freestyle with Jason Lezak.
Freestyle technique is your focus in the first half of the set. Putting that technique into practice with a classic 10 X 100 is your focus on the second half.
This week's set is for beginning swimmers (and for advanced swimmers who need to hit REFRESH on their technique page). If you are a goswimtv.com subscriber, you can link to video of great swimmers demonstrating the techniques.
Short set in every stroke today, including a very short butterfly set that keeps popping up....
This week's drill features some different and fun ways to use a physio ball to work on technique for all your strokes.
We are a group of swimmers who swim really fast, and like to help others learn how to reach their competitive potential in the area of professional swimming.
