Bio:I have been a swim coach for 15 years. I was a swimmer growing up and during my senior year of high school I had major shoulder surgery and could not swim competitively anymore so I got into coaching. I played all sports growing up and I have also always had a love for kids and teaching them. I went to college to become a physical education teacher. While in school we always talked about life long activities and sports and swimming is one of the biggest one. In the south none of the schools have pools, so swimming is not taught. In the north the schools have pools and swimming is a part of the pe program (you would think it would be the other way around, since it is warmer in the south). That's when I decided to really focus on coaching swimming. I have always loved the sport and I love teaching and coaching it to the kids. Swimming is a sport that needs more aknowledgement. It is an incredible sport and it is a lifelong sport and activity. When I see a swimmer at a meet swim their best and improve their times and when they get excited about dropping time that makes me feel awsome and makes me want to coach even more and I know that I helped that swimmer with that accomplishment and that makes my heart smile |
Interests:I love swimming and love spending time at our lake house with my husband and our 2 dogs (Zoey & Oscar). I also love kids and enjoy working with them. I have a very special place in my heart for teaching & working with children. |
