Grasp one handle in each hand with palms facing down.  Stand far enough from the attachment so that when you bend at the waist, with knees slightly bent and arms extended, the cords are straight but carry little or no tension.  At the starting point, the hands are slightly closer than shoulder-width apart, just like they would be as you touch the wall for a breaststroke or butterfly turn. 

While keeping your back nice and straight, and while keeping one arm extended, send the elbow of the other arm BACK as if someone was standing behind you and you were trying to elbow them out of the way.  As you pull the hand back, rotate the hand from palm DOWN at the starting position to palm UP at the end of the movement.  As you send the elbow BACK, add a slight backward rotation to the hip on that side.  Again…this mimics the movement of your hips as you execute an open turn.   Control the movement by keeping the elbow tucked tight to the side of the body and by slowly returning the hand to the starting position.   Repeat on the other side.
