*Creating routines with parents*

Mac loves to be in the water but has disregard for safety and will just stay under without coming up for a breath. In the video we are using parent support, deep pressure of the bob and communication with reward to motivate him for swim skill. Submerging and taking a breath works well for him if we go deep enough that the hydrostatic pressure surrounds his body giving more information of the compression so that when we break the surface tension and come up he inhales. Blinking his eyes and looking to propel and take side to safety would be the swim skill benchmark that relates to safety for a good routine. As you see he lets go right away with disregard for breath. We would repeat the routines, give rewards and use rituals to achieve success.
