In developing a beautiful freestyle, be careful when you focus on a “silent hand entry”. While quiet can be pretty, it can introduce pauses or hesitations that can impact your rotation and extension.

“Hearing” a stroke isn’t necessarily a bad thing once you determine what’s making the sound.

After making the video, we also noticed how much more kick was required at the same water speed with the quiet stroke, compared with the stroke with a more natural fall. In both strokes, however, look at how clean the hands are in extension… no bubbles on either.
