There isn’t a more universally accepted technique in all of swimming than the streamline.

This position allows you to travel the furthest, the fastest, with the least amount of work.  You want to become like a torpedo in the water.

Put both hands together over the top of your head.  Whichever hand is place on top, take that thumb and wrap it around the side of the bottom hand.  This locks the hands together.

Now squeeze the arms onto the side of your head.  The arms should be right at or just behind the ears.

Always try to be in the streamline position BEFORE you jump off the wall.  This will give you the biggest payback from that great jump.
