We’re going to start a cycle of exercises that are exactly the same except for one aspect… the amount of time you get to review and pause between the movements.

This is exactly the same exercise as 7-Count Backstroke, only you’re going to spend less time in the balanced position between the strokes.

It’s important to try to count at a similar rate each time you do this series of exercises so that the pauses continue to get shorter, but you keep the movements and actions the same as you increase the rate.

Keep the head stable with the eyes looking up.  Focus on recovering the trailing hand first, then after it’s started, take a pull and land in the balanced position on the other side.

Review, count, plan and repeat.
