Six-Kick Switch is a great drill for working on hip rotation.  

Start in Extended Balance, Nose Up.  Roll Nose Down and kick for six kicks.  Then take one nice, strong stroke, using your hips and core muscles to flip to the other side.  

Get some air, then go Nose Down for six kicks, then use your core muscles to flip to the other side.

Keep practicing 6-Kick Switch until you can rotate cleanly from one side to the other.  You won’t swim with this much rotation.  But by exaggerating the rotation when you drill, you’ll learn to harness the power of your hips and core muscles when you swim.
