One of the most important things you can do as a swimmer is to spend time swimming slow and easy.  This is where the best learning takes place.

In the next few clips let’s just watch Sara swim.  

Watch how relaxed she is...how little stress or hurry there is in her motions...and how little splash.   But yet her movements are clean and precise. 

Notice Sara’s overall body line -- that it’s horizontal and balanced through every part of the stroke cycle.

In this clip, focus on Sara’s hands and how they extend front to back for just a brief moment on every stroke -- and how they never cross the centerline.

Sara spends a good portion of her training time swimming slow and pretty, at speeds where she can think about hip rotation, body position, a steady kick, and minimizing resistance.  She swims slow to lock in the technique...

...that lets her swim fast.
