One of the most basic skills that's very good to master is coming to a controlled stop.  

Here we see Tony coming in and he's doing a demonstration of when your weight is a little too far forward and coming in hot.  This is something that can happen. He obviously has very good control and he was able to counterbalance by putting his weight back, as you can see, when he moved his torso and his lower body towards the saddle. 

And here, Charlotte coming through, showing a really good stop.  She's coming in at a good amount of speed. She's leaning back. She's got both brakes applying pressure here. 

They're doing it side by side. Once again, you really working on challenging yourself and having a partner and in close proximity certainly does so. So you want to keep doing these skills over and over until you feel very comfortable with them. 

And we have a battle. 

Quick stop and then locking themselves into a position to hold for a few seconds and holding a track stand to something, a very good skill. Once again, it takes balance, takes using your core.
