Another very fun and important skill to work on is riding a straight line, being balanced and then being able to pick up a water bottle or another object off the ground. 

Certainly many occasions that occur in a race where you might have dropped your nutrition or something on the ground you might have to pick up. Definitely good to be able to work on this and have some fun with it. It's another one of those drills that if performed in your local group ride, you get immediate hero status. 

And here you see, Tony, not a problem whatsoever. Just rolling down, leaning over, picking it up so you can see uses his opposite arm on the other side of the handlebars. As he leans over, he's pushing a little more weight. So he's leaning over to his left. He's pushing his weight to the right so he can really kind of counterbalance something you can really play around with. 

I recommend doing this drill easily six to 10 times. Takes you only a couple of minutes. And it's something that the more you practice it with frequency, the better you become at it.
