So a narrow breaststroke kick is far better than a wide breaststroke kick, it's a smaller kick, quicker kick, fast feet.  You have to think of the kick not so much as the propulsion, but as limiting the resistance that you create in order to set up the kick. So we've done this before, but we're going to try it in here using my favorite breaststroke kick tool, the pull buoy. So obviously coaches all over have done this forever. 

You put the pull buoy between the thighs and you swim breaststroke with it. It's that simple. So it will elevate the body, will change the position a little bit. But the idea is that you're going to try to kick it as best as you can with the pull buoy in making sure that you don't bring the knees up too far and you're going to do that for five, six, ten kicks and then just drop the pull buoy and then see if you can keep the legs as close to that position as possible. 

Now, sometimes people start to develop this incredibly narrow kick that is probably not as productive because they might not have the ankle flexibility. 

So when you drop the pull buoy,  if the knees spread a little bit more, that's cool. We're really looking for is limiting resistance by making sure that we're a little bit more narrow, but at the same time checking the ankle flexibility to make sure that you get some grab on the water. So we'll try to look at this from underwater directly ahead and see what we can see. 

So to me, they felt narrow. They felt like they stayed narrow and they kicked, felt good, and it wasn't creating a lot of resistance in the setup. But again, just like we've done in other videos, you may feel something, but it might be completely different in what it looks like. So I'm actually looking forward to seeing this as well.
