Here's a fun way to find the perfect rhythm for your breaststroke and butterfly. You'll be hearing the finis Tempo Trainer right now. This setting will be the rate that you take each stroke with, and you're going to try to alternate breaststroke and butterfly while maintaining the same rate with a dolphin kick.

Some swimmers have a faster or slower rate with one of the two strokes. If there is a discrepancy between one of the two strokes it typically means that the swimmer is trying to pull or kick too hard, rather than allow the body to lead the process. We want these strokes driven by the body, especially butterfly. Try to make sure that both strokes have the same rhythm and experiment with the tempo on the Tempo Trainer and experiment with the rhythm or the rate on the Tempo Trainer to find the rate that's just right for you. This helps you make sure that the stroke is driven by the body and not by the arms and legs.
