In this final section of the video, Karlyn will just swim...and you can watch how all the parts come together.  In every stroke, see if you can identify how Karlyn applies her six principles.

Do her hands enter slightly outside the shoulder?

Is her head in neutral, with eyes down and hips high?

Does she use a high-elbow catch?

Can you pick out where and how she’s applying power?

Is her kick small and quick?

And does her breathing looked relaxed?

As you add Karlyn’s focus points to your own swimming, remember to work on just one thing at a time.

Give yourself permission to experiment, and try to be aware of how you feel when using a new technique.

Remember, swimming is not a one-size-fits-all sport.  It takes self awareness and the willingness to change to find what works for you.
