Roland has equaled or broken seven world records, and is the current world record holder in the 50- and 100-meter freestyle (short course) and in the 50-meter butterfly (long course).

Roland is one of the most talented sprinters in history.    When we watch him at full speed, it’s hard to see the technical elements that make him so fast.

But in this video, we’ll slow things down so that you can see how Roland catches and pulls…

…how he kicks…

…how he breathes…

…and how he aligns his body for maximum power.

We’ll point out six specific things that Roland does… that you can try in your own swimming.

When you add these focus points to your swimming, it’s best NOT to think about all of them at the same time.  Try to focus on one specific thing each day.

And when you work on these techniques, it should always be in addition to what your coach is asking you to do...not in place of.

All great swimmers will tell you:  Don’t be afraid to try something new.  Keep searching until you find the style and technique that’s right for you.
